Planning your golf trip to Spain should feel just as enjoyable as the trip itself. Below you'll find answers to the most common questions about travel, accommodations, golf courses, logistics, and more. If there's anything you’re still unsure about, don’t hesitate to get in touch - we’re here to make your experience seamless from start to finish.

What’s included in the trip package?
All of the following is covered. However, please note that the itinerary may be subject to change due to availability, weather, or other unforeseen circumstances, but we’ll always aim to offer an experience of equal or greater value.

How long is the trip?
The trip is exactly one week so a 7 nights stay. The check in date will be Sunday, April 19th 2026 and the check out date will be Sunday, April 26th 2026.

What is the typical daily schedule like?
On the four days that you will play golf, we will generally leave the hotel around 7:30 AM. We will arrive at the golf courses around 8:00 AM, and play will start at around 9:00 AM. After the round, you will have lunch at the clubhouse restaurant. During lunch day prizes will be handed out. After lunch you will be transferred to the area for the half day trip. In those places you will have free time before we meet up for dinner together. After dinner we head back to the hotel. On day trips you will have free time in the morning before we start with the transfer to our cultural highlights where we will have guided tours and some time off before we have dinner together. After dinner we’ll go back to the hotel.

Is the trip suitable for both experienced and casual golfers?
The trip is for experienced golfers who have sufficient knowledge of the golf rules & etiquette. Most important is to keep a good pace of play.

Are non-golfers welcome?
Yes, although the trip is created mostly for golfers, non-golfers are more than welcome to join. Non-golfers will follow almost the entire week program except for the golf. Therefore a lower price for non-golfers will apply. Alternative activities can be organised by us in consultation, but this is not included in the price.

How many people usually join a trip?
The minimum number of golfers is 12 and the maximum is 40. Groups for the non-golfing activities can increase when non-golfers are added.

What’s the group dynamic like – couples, solo travelers, friends?
Everyone is welcome on this trip. By matching up everyone randomly we hope everyone will get to know as many people as possible. Of course we understand if you want to be paired in the same flight as your partner or with some of your friends. Just let us know and we will be more than happy to accommodate you. Golf in our opinion is always a great way to get to know new people. But all other parts of the program are also really suitable for socialising.

Will I have free time during the trip?
Yes, you will. On the day trips the mornings will be partly free. At the beautiful La Zambra resort there are many things to do during this free time. You can visit the Spa, do a workout in the gym or just relax by the pool. On the half day trips after golf there is always a part of the day that there will be free time. This free time will be spent in the lovely city of Malaga and the beautiful towns La Cala de Mijas and Mijas Pueblo.

Is this trip physically demanding?
On the golf days you play 18 holes (with cart included) and afterwards in Malaga, La Cala de Mijas and Mijas Pueblo you can decide how much you want to discover and how much you want to walk. Mijas pueblo has some steep climbs as does Malaga but only if you decide to really walk around. During the day trips there will be guided tours of around 2 hours.

Do I need to speak Spanish?
No, it’s easy if you want to communicate with the locals but you really don’t have to speak Spanish. The Costa del Sol is known for its hospitality and the Spanish people are accustomed to welcoming English speaking tourists. The guided tours will be in English. The ordering in restaurants can be done by us but please feel free to try. At the golf courses most people speak English.

Is the trip suitable for all ages?
Age is just a number. So we’ve created this trip for all golf lovers wanting to come to Spain. But keep in mind we have put together a fun filled package that can also be quite demanding for some. Just keep in mind that we have planned 4 rounds of golf (all 18 holes, some with cart paths only) and many other activities. If you just get excited thinking about this, this trip is suited for your age.

Are children allowed on the trip?
In general we wouldn’t want to deny anyone but we think this trip is not suited for or with children.

Do I need travel insurance?
Yes, as with every trip or vacation, travel insurance is a must. If you need assistance with this, we can point you in the right direction.

What airport should I fly into?
The main airport for the Costa del Sol is Malaga Airport (AGP). It is well connected with many major European cities and international hubs. Travelers from the U.S. and Canada can often find direct or one-stop flights to Malaga.

Are airport transfers included?
Yes, airport transfers are included. The size of the vehicle will depend on how many participants arrive at the same time, but transfers will always be arranged swiftly.

What are the start and end dates of the trip?
The trip begins on Sunday, April 19th, 2026 and ends on the Sunday, April 26th, 2026.

Can I arrive earlier or stay longer?
Absolutely. You’re welcome to arrive earlier or extend your stay. Just let us know so we can assist with hotel arrangements. If you plan to travel more through Spain or Europe, we’ll gladly connect you with our trusted partners.

Will someone greet me at the airport?
Yes, one of our team members will be there to welcome you and escort you to your transfer vehicle. If we’re not available in person, a representative from our trusted transfer company will be there to assist.

Can you help arrange flights?
We want to help every step of the way. While Iberico Golf does not book flights directly, we can point you in the right direction if you need assistance.

What documents do I need to travel to Spain?
You’ll need a valid passport with at least 3 months of validity beyond your intended departure from Spain. Travelers may be asked to show proof of sufficient funds and a return or onward travel ticket. U.S. and Canadian citizens can enter Spain for up to 90 days without a visa.

Do I need a visa to travel to Spain?
Visa requirements depend on your nationality. Citizens of the U.S., Canada, the UK, the EU, and several other countries do not need a visa for stays up to 90 days. If you’re unsure, please check with your local embassy or official government travel site.

Which golf courses will we play?
You can read all about it on the Golf Courses page. Please note that course selections are subject to change for various reasons. In such cases, we’ll always ensure the replacement is of equally high quality.

How many rounds of golf are included?
The trip includes four rounds of 18 holes. You’ll also have the option to play an extra round at the hotel course, which is not included in the package price.

What level of golfer is this trip for?
The trip is for experienced golfers who have sufficient knowledge of the golf rules & etiquette. The most important thing is to keep a good pace of play.

Will I be paired with others if I’m traveling solo?
Yes, to make everyone feel part of the group we try to randomly pair everyone.

Can I choose who I play with?
By matching up everyone randomly we hope everyone will get to know as many people as possible. Of course we also understand it if you want to be paired in the same flight as your partner or with some of your friends. Just let us know and we will be more than happy to accommodate you.

Are golf carts included?
Yes, golf carts are included on every course. Some courses can be cart paths only.

Are caddies available?
Caddy availability is limited. If you prefer or need a caddy please inquire upfront and we will happily get back to you with more details.

What format will we play?
During the week we will play different formats depending on the composition, size and levels within the group.

Can I bring my own clubs?
Yes, all participants can bring their own clubs. You can take them with you on your flights or you can use a service such as shipsticks.com.

Can I rent clubs if I don’t want to bring mine?
Yes, if you’d rather rent clubs, we can help you get a set at each course or one set for the whole week.

Is golf attire required?
Holiday golf is very common here but there still will be general attire requirements. E.g. no jeans, no pants/shorts with rips or tears, no offensive prints or language on clothing.

Where will we be staying?
All participants will stay at the exceptional 5-star La Zambra Resort (Unbound by Hyatt) in Mijas, Spain.

Is there Wi-Fi at the hotel?
Yes, complimentary high-speed internet is available throughout the resort.

Can I request a single room?
Absolutely. Rooms for single use are available at an additional surcharge.

Can I share a room with a friend or partner?
Yes. We’ve reserved a mix of double, twin, and single-use rooms to suit different preferences.

Are the accommodations suitable for guests with limited mobility?
Yes, the resort is fully accessible and offers rooms and facilities suitable for guests with mobility needs.

Are meals included?
Yes. Lunch is included from Monday through Saturday at a variety of locations, and dinner is included each evening from Sunday through Saturday.

What type of food will be served?
Expect a delicious variety, from authentic Spanish tapas to international cuisine. When menus require a choice, there will always be meat, fish, vegetarian, and vegan options available.

Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?
Yes, we collect allergy and dietary information in advance and do our best to accommodate all needs.

Are (alcoholic) drinks included?
Soft drinks, beer, and wine are included with lunches and dinners. Spirits will be clearly indicated when included; otherwise, they can be purchased separately.

What services does the resort provide?
La Zambra offers all the amenities you’d expect from a luxury resort: multiple swimming pools, extensive sunbeds with poolside service, and a renowned spa with treatment cabins, hydro pools, jacuzzi, hammam, sauna, and a serene adults-only relaxation area. Additional facilities include a 24/7 fitness center with indoor/outdoor options, yoga and pilates studio, tennis and padel courts with coaching, massage and beauty treatments, evening entertainment, boutique shopping, concierge services, locker rooms, solarium, bike rental, and personal trainers.

Are all activities optional?
Yes, but keep in mind that the costs for these activities are incorporated in the package price. Of course you can decide to skip any of these activities but there will be no discount for not taking part in these activities.

What is there to do during free time?
During our day trips, you’ll have the morning free to enjoy the resort or play a relaxed round at the nearby golf course. In Málaga, you might climb to the Alcazaba for stunning views, explore the Picasso Museum, browse local shops, or simply wander through the city’s lively streets. In La Cala de Mijas, take a scenic coastal walk along the Costa del Sol or unwind at a beach club. And in Mijas Pueblo, just stroll through the whitewashed streets and soak up the charm of this authentic Spanish village.

Is there anything planned for non-golfing spouses or companions?

Do I need to bring anything special for the excursions?
Please make sure to wear comfortable shoes if you plan on walking a bit. The weather should be nice but always bring extra layers.

What’s the weather like in that part of Spain?
The Southern part of Spain, specifically the Costa del Sol, has a very comfortable and nice climate offering many sun hours every part of the year. However, always be smart and bring an extra layer for any chilly moments.

Should I bring cash or use cards?
In Spain it is still quite common to pay in cash. However, all major cards are widely accepted.

Is there a dress code at the golf courses or dinners?
Holiday golf is very common here but there still will be general attire requirements. E.g. no jeans, no pants/shorts with rips or tares in them, no offensive prints or language on clothing. Formal wear is not necessary but we would like everyone to wear something nice yet comfortable for the dinners.

Can I charge my phone and electronics easily?
Yes, but if you are not European please be sure to bring an adapter.

Do I need to pay a deposit?
Yes. Products and services provided by us are in most cases pre-paid in advance and are non-refundable. Therefore, a non-refundable deposit of 25% is required at booking. Late bookings within 90 days of departure require full payment at booking.

When is the full payment due?
The balance of 75% is due 60 days before departure. Late bookings within 90 days of departure require full payment at booking.

What is the cancellation policy?
The following cancellation charges apply:
More than 60 days before departure: 25% for late bookings or loss of deposit
60-30 days before departure: 50% of total tour cost charged (50% refund)
Less than 30 days: 100% of total tour cost charged (no refund)

What payment methods do you accept?
You can pay by debit card, credit card (Visa and Mastercard) or bank transfer.

Do I run a financial risk if I make an advance payment?
No, Iberico Golf is affiliated with VZR Guarantee Company. It ensures that your pre-paid travel money is protected in the event of bankruptcy of the travel organization, both before and during the trip. They can even arrange repatriation if necessary.

Are there any hidden fees?
No, there are no hidden fees. Iberico Golf also does not charge their clients a booking fee.

Is tipping included?
No, tipping is not included. Tipping is always appreciated but in restaurants we will take care of this. If you want to you can show your appreciation by tipping but it is not expected nor mandatory.

Are there any discounts for groups or returning guests?
Our package price is based on a minimal number of participants. Therefore there are no discounts for groups. For returning guests we will do our best to offer a discount but this will be reviewed by us for any individual case.

How do I book a trip?
Bookings can be done by clicking on the ‘Book Now’ button and submitting your details. You will then receive an email with a payment link. Bookings are confirmed upon receipt of the required deposit or full payment.

Can I talk to someone before I book?

Who do I contact if I have questions or issues during the trip?
